How Much Does Landscaping Cost in the Philippines?

Landscaping in the Philippines is usually priced per square metre of landscaped area, and in 2026 the range runs roughly ₱1,300 to ₱6,000+ per square metre depending on scope — with plant supply and maintenance priced separately. These are indicative ranges drawn from real Mother Earth Gardens projects delivered across Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna and Batangas in 2025–2026.

What actually drives the price?
Two gardens of the same size can differ several-fold. The biggest drivers, in rough order:
- Scope depth. Planting alone is the floor. Add irrigation, drainage, lighting and hardscape and the per-sqm climbs fast. A lean planting-led residential scheme can sit near ₱2,000/sqm, while a full design-build with irrigation, drainage and lighting pushes toward ₱6,000/sqm — same category, very different scope. Bespoke high-end builds with mature specimen trees and full utilities run well beyond that.
- Plant maturity. Mature specimens that read as “landscaped” on day one cost multiples of young stock that takes years to fill in. This is the single biggest reason two quotes diverge.
- Hardscape ratio. Walls, paving and features are more expensive per sqm than planting. A hardscape-heavy design costs more than a planting-led one.
- Scale. Bigger sites price lower per sqm. Large developer softscape came in around ₱1,300/sqm where a small residential job is several times that.
- Site access & complexity. Tight access, high floors, slopes and difficult soil all add cost.
- Establishment / wastage allowance. Living material has attrition; a credible quote builds in an allowance (commonly ~20%) rather than pricing thin and substituting later.
- Maintenance. Whether the price includes aftercare — and for how long — changes the total. Plants without maintenance don’t stay looking landscaped.
How is landscaping priced? (so you can read a quote)
Installation — per square metre
Full landscape and softscape installs are quoted per sqm of landscaped area. Ask what’s inside the rate: planting only, or planting + soil + drainage + irrigation? Two “per sqm” numbers aren’t comparable unless the scope behind them matches.
Hardscape — per square metre or per item
Walkways and paving are per sqm; walls, water features and structures are often per item. In our projects a stamped-concrete walkway ran about ₱2,600/sqm in material and labour before markup.
Plant supply — per plant, plus delivery
If you’re buying plants only (no installation), it’s priced per plant, not per sqm — shrubs commonly ₱130–₱600 each and feature trees considerably more — plus a delivery/hauling charge per run (typically ₱8,000–₱30,000 depending on truck size and delivery volume).
Maintenance — a monthly retainer
Ongoing maintenance is a monthly retainer. On a large estate this can work out to roughly ₱20 per sqm per month; small, high-visibility sites are priced higher per sqm because the minimum crew and visit frequency don’t shrink with the area.

Why are two landscaping quotes so far apart?
Almost always because of plant sizes and hidden scope — one quoted mature specimens, real soil and drainage; the other quoted young stock and thin groundwork. Normalise plant sizes and check soil, drainage and irrigation before you compare totals.
Is it cheaper to just buy the plants and install them myself?
Plant-only supply is cheaper up front, but attrition, wrong sizing and poor establishment often cost more later. Installed work usually carries a plant warranty; loose supply doesn't.
Do landscaping prices include maintenance?
Not always — check. Plants need aftercare to stay looking landscaped; a quote without a maintenance line isn't complete.
