This calculator uses real peso-per-square-meter benchmarks from Philippine landscaping projects, covering six project types (residential, commercial, industrial, resort/hospitality, mixed-use, institutional) across four quality tiers (basic, standard, premium, luxury) and five scopes (softscape, hardscape, irrigation, drainage, lighting). Softscape is always costed against your full area; hardscape, irrigation, drainage, and lighting are costed against a typical coverage share of that area for the project type, since those scopes rarely span an entire site. A tier-based contingency (5–8%) and a confidence-based variance (±15–35%) are then applied to produce a realistic low–high range rather than a single misleading number.

Across recent Philippine projects, softscape (planting) alone ranges from about ₱800/sqm for basic industrial planting up to ₱8,000/sqm for luxury resort-grade planting. Add hardscape (paving, walls), irrigation, drainage, or lighting and the blended cost per sqm rises significantly — a mid-range residential garden with hardscape typically lands between ₱3,000–₱7,000/sqm all-in.
A full landscape estimate typically covers five scopes: softscape (plants, soil, planting labor), hardscape (paving, walls, site furniture), irrigation, drainage, and landscape lighting. Not every project needs all five, and each scope rarely covers 100% of the site — for example, hardscape on a typical residential lot covers about 25% of the landscaped area, not the whole lot.
A calculator like this one gives a planning-stage range, not a quotation. It uses real market benchmarks but can't account for site-specific conditions like soil quality, slope, existing structures, or access. Confidence in the estimate is expressed as a range (±15% to ±35%) that narrows as scope becomes more defined — the only way to get an exact number is a site visit.
Quality tier and hardscape scope are the two biggest levers. Moving from a basic to a luxury quality tier can roughly triple the softscape and hardscape rate per sqm. Hardscape (paving, walls, structures) is typically the single most expensive scope per sqm of any category — 2 to 5 times higher than softscape at the same tier.
